Since the Feb. 12 Nominations Convention for the 2019 Student Government Association (SGA) Election in the Art and Journalism Building, the three competing slates have received endorsements from students and organizations in the Ball State community.

Here’s a list of endorsements shared with us by the the three slates:

Elevate

The Elevate slate has received eight endorsements as of 10 a.m. Feb. 23. They include:

  • Ball State Army ROTC Cardinal Battalion, Alpha Company
  • Ball State Men's Rugby Football Club
  • Ball State Women’s Soccer Club
  • Current SGA Secretary Kyleigh Snavely
  • Current SGA Senator Kam Bontrager
  • Current SGA Vice President Matt Hinkelman
  • Current SGA President Isaac Mitchell
  • Phi Delta Theta Fraternity, Indiana Kappa Chapter
  • Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity, Indiana Iota Chapter

Editor’s Note: The letters of endorsement from Mitchell, Bontrager, Hinkelman and Snavely included that their endorsements of Elevate did not represent the views of SGA.

The Daily News announced its cautious endorsement of the Elevate slate Feb. 22.

Empower

The Empower slate received an endorsement from former SGA President James Wells Feb. 21. Empower has also told The Daily News that it has received endorsements from student organizations but did not wish to release the information as of Feb. 21.

United

The United slate told The Daily News in an email Feb. 21 it has "not actively sought endorsements from people because we believe their support for us will be apparent when the results are announced next week.”

This story will be updated.
