Ball State University Singers performed in the Atrium noon Thursday to promote its 54th Spectacular.

The Spectacular, or “Spec” as the students call it, is an annual performance put on by the Singers, a show choir. This year’s performance will be Friday and Saturday 7:30 p.m. in Emens Auditorium.

“Today was a preview,” said Marissa Miller, a junior singer.

The songs performed in the Atrium included “Can't Stop the Feeling!” by Justin Timberlake, “Love Shack” by The B-52’s and “Born This Way” by Lady Gaga. Miller said Spec would include some of the songs the Singers performed Thursday.

“We do quite a variety of different music,” Miller said.

Miller said the show will last about two hours with a 15 minute intermission.

“We do a lot of current stuff,” said Madi Relue, a freshman singer. “[In our show] we have a song from ‘The Greatest Showman’ and ‘Dreamgirls.’”

While Thursday’s performance solely included singing in the red show choir dresses and suits, Miller said Spec will have multiple songs with multiple costumes and lots of choreography.

Tickets are $15 at the door, but if students buy them before 5 p.m. on Friday they are $10.
