After a 1-1 start on the first day of the season, Ball State softball dominated both North Carolina State and Georgetown to sweep Saturday's doubleheader in Fort Myers, Florida.

In the first game, the Cardinals prevailed over the Wolfpack 8-2, and they beat the Hoyas 5-1 in the second game late in the evening.

Junior Aeshia Miles earned her second straight victory in the game against NC State, as Ball State scored three in the first and five in the sixth to put away the NC State.

Sophomore first baseman Janae Hogg was the key offense spark in the win over the Wolfpack, driving home four on three hits, including a three-run home run in the sixth inning.

Senior center fielder Kennedy Wynn had three RBIs to lead the Cardinals past the Hoyas in the late game.

Next up, Ball State finishes its season-opening weekend in Florida by playing Florida Gulf Coast on Sunday at 1:30 p.m.
