A late fourth quarter run wasn’t enough for the Cardinals (14-3, 3-3 MAC) as they fell short against the Toledo Rockets (13-5, 4-2 MAC) 72-66 on Wednesday night.

Ball State found themselves behind from the start and never was able to take the lead.

Toledo’s defense was stout which caused Ball State to struggle throughout the game to find their groove on the offensive end, shooting 43.7 percent from the field and only 17.6 percent from behind the three-point line.

Senior forward Destiny Washington finished with a double-double for the Cardinals scoring 19 points and grabbing 12 rebounds.

Senior forward Moriah Monaco also added 17 points, while, junior guard Carmen Grande dished out 11 assists and finished with 8 points.

Ball State looks to end two-game losing streak on the road as they face Kent State (9-8, 2-3 MAC) Saturday at 2 p.m.
