Muncie Fire Department responded to three structure fires on the city's south side Monday afternoon.

The first call came into Delaware County Emergency Communications around 1 p.m. for a structure fire in the 1300 block of East Memorial Drive.

Around 2:45 p.m., a structure fire was reported in the 1300 block of East 5th Street.

MFD Battalion Chief Jim Clevenger said no one was home at the time and no injuries have been reported, though a fire investigator was on scene.

Clevenger said while the fire fighters were able to save part of the structure, the inside sustained a lot of damage.

Shortly before 3:40 p.m. another structure fire call was reported in the 2100 block of South May Avenue.

The fire appears to have started in a detached garage and a truck in the garage was partially burned in the blaze.
