Soccer draws Appalachian State 1-1 in overtime

Ball State soccer drew Appalachian State 1-1 on Sunday afternoon at the Briner Sports Complex.

Maggie Hanusek led off the scoring with a 51st minute goal from 15 yards out. Ball State responded with a goal from junior forward Emily Scott in the 70th minute.

After the two goals, no team scored the rest of the way.

The Cardinals outshot Appalachian State 13-7 on the game, but the Mountaineers led in shots on goal 5-3.

Ball State had 14 fouls to Appalachian State's 12, but the Mountaineers were given two yellow cards to the Cardinals' one. Senior midfielder Allison Abbe was given the card for Ball State in the 110th minute.

Next up, the Cardinals will travel to Texas to play TCU at 7 p.m. Friday.
