Seven Hunters are gone; we can't grab a signal from mom's phone; Cas has Kelly Kline who-knows-where; Mick has slipped off the grid; Ketch is lying to us. I want to punch something in the face.The end of the season is fast approaching, and last week the team at Supernatural released an episode that tore my heart out. Every rough moment for Sam and Dean over the past season culminates in this episode and sets up what is sure to be an intense season finale. This episode sees the head of two major conflicts that have been going on this season: the Winchesters vs. British Men of Letters and Lucifer vs. Crowley. While Sam and Dean search for their mother who is being held captive by the British Men of Letters, Lucifer is busy trying to escape to see his son be born. The return of Lady Bevell is also a fascinating dynamic thrown into the end of this season. We originally saw Lady Bevell at the beginning of Season Twelve, when she captured and tortured Sam for information on the American Hunters. Her resurgence and interactions with Mary are dark but also incredibly well written and acted. Speaking of acting, Samantha Smith shines as Mary Winchester in this episode. Her performance is stunning and heartbreaking, and the way she tackles the horrible things happening to her character is a real testament to her acting ability. Castiel and Kelly Kline did not make an appearance in this episode, though they were mentioned multiple times. Things don't look too good for Sam and Dean, and with the two-hour season finale releasing this week, it’s sure to be an intense, entertaining, and probably emotional ride.Sam Winchester
