GALLERY: Cirque Mechanics perform new show, Pedal Punk

Cirque Mechanics performed their new show Pedal Punk in John R. Emens Auditorium on Tuesday.

The Steampunk-inspired acrobatic performance shows a world where cycling is the escape from a technology-obsessed society. The show follows an eccentric bike shop mechanic as he interacts with cyclists and bikes and creates machines that come to life and inspires the cyclist to unite with their inner "pedal punk."

The performers act out various stunts using bikes, hoops and rings while suspended in the air.

Cirque Mechanics, which is based in Las Vegas, combines traditional circus routines with cirque elements to theatrically tell a "real world" story.
