After a few inches of snowfall were recorded in East Central Indiana Wednesday night, the National Weather Service is reminding drivers to stay safe on the roads.

Slick and icy spots are possible, especially on lesser-traveled roads, and cold wind chills near zero degrees are also possible through mid-day Thursday, according to NWS.

Although temperatures have been low the last few days — with nighttime temperatures dropping into the teens — forecasters predict warmer weather is on the way for much of Delaware County.

Temperatures for the rest of the week are expected to reach into the 40s and 50s, with lows in the 30s.

However, rain chances rise with the start of the weekend, and on Sunday the chance of rain rises to 70 percent.

This story will be updated.
