Planetarium features two new programs in fall schedule

Ball State’s Charles W. Brown Planetarium has released the schedule for their upcoming free events that run until the end of the year. Different programs will be happening every month at the planetarium on Fridays and Saturdays.

Into the Darkness 
August 26, 27 at 6:30 and 8 p.m. Closes Sept. 10.

The program will give attendees the opportunity to learn how to navigate the sky by using bright stars and constellations, and discover fascinating deep space objects. 

Moons: Worlds of Mystery 
Begins on Sept. 16.

This program will take visitors on a journey through the solar system, exploring how moons interact with their planetary partners.

Halloween: Celestial Origins
October 7-29, with showings on Fridays at 6:30 p.m. and Saturdays at 6:30 and 8 p.m.

This is predicted to be one of the season's most popular programs, said Dayna Thompson, assistant planetarium director. It will explore Halloween as an astrological holiday.

To Space & Back
November 4-19

Audience members will learn how the technology that transports people through space is paving the way for the technology used by everyone. 

Christmas Star
December 2-17

Focuses on potential natural explanations for the appearance of the Star of Bethlehem, as described in the Bible.
