Whitford signs contract extension

Men's basketball under Whitford

2013-14: 5-25 (2-16 MAC)

2014-15: 7-23 (2-16 MAC)

2015-16: 21-14 (10-8 MAC)


Ball State finished the 2015-16 season with a 21-14 record, a 14-win increase from the previous season's 7-23 record. It was also the Cardinals' first 20-win season since the 2001-02 season.

The Cardinals also finished tied for first in the Mid-American Conference West Division with a 10-8 record.

Ball State advanced to the quarterfinals of the CollegeInsider.com Tournament in the program's first postseason appearance since 2002.

Whitford has also been hitting the recruiting trail, signing Jontrell Walker, a transfer from Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Texas, and incoming freshman Zach Hollywood from Bradley, Illinois, to scholarship papers earlier today.
