For the past few years, the Daily News has given both slates running for the Student Government Association executive board the opportunity to write to the students, sharing why they should vote for them.

This year, 18 and Summit took that opportunity. Read their letters here.

18:

"18 is more than a slate, it is a movement. This movement can be seen through the slate’s 4 candidates. From all walks of life, backgrounds, involvements, and abilities, the slate encompasses the true definition of diversity."

Read 18's letter.

Summit:

"The challenges students face may seem as insurmountable as a mountain. The executive candidates of Summit recognize how difficult college can be. This is why the SGA slate "Summit" has adopted such a name. Summit earned its name from the strides the Ball State student body make every day to overcome these obstacles."

Read Summit's letter.

Editor's note: The letters were written by the slates running for the Student Government Association 2016-17 executive board. The letters were not edited by the Daily News.
