Jonathan Newsome arrested for marijuana possession

Former Ball State football player and current Indianapolis Colts linebacker Jonathan Newsome was arrested early this morning on possession of marijuana charges, according to fox59.com.

Police arrived at Newsome's apartment around 2 a.m. Feb. 17 after receiving a noise complaint.

While police were searching the premises, they found marijuana and transported Newsome to the Boone County Jail, according to the report.

Newsome was drafted in the fifth round of the 2014 NFL Draft to the Colts, where he had 6.5 sacks to lead the team as a rookie. In his two-year career, Newsome has 47 combined tackles and 7.5 total sacks.
