MUNCIE, IN (NewsLink Indiana) - Winter weather has made a return to Muncie. Large snowflakes and heavy snow bands developed early this morning just shortly after the morning commute. However, that is not the end of the snow chance for the area. Over the next two days expect scattered snow showers and chilly temperatures to stick around. Tonight, expect lows to drop down to 25 degrees, however, it may feel more chilly due to a WNW at 10-15 mph. The morning commute may be tricky as the snowfall from this morning left pavement wet in some locations. The overnight lows in combination with dropping pavement temperatures may allow for the development of some black ice in the overnight hours. Tomorrow will be cloudy with the chance of snow showers throughout the day. Right now, accumulations are expected to be under an inch for tomorrow. However, some locally higher totals could occur with the development of stronger, heavier snow bands. Once the event wraps up on Wednesday, overall snowfall totals for Muncie will be nearing 1-2 inches. Thursday will bring sunny skies and much colder temperatures as overnight lows will be dropping well into the teens.
