Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift opened the show with her latest chart topper, “Out of the Woods,” the sixth single from her album “1989,” which won Album of the Year. This makes her the only female to win that award twice — something she mentioned in her acceptance speech.

Lionel Richie

Singers from different genres of music came together to honor four-time Grammy winner and music icon Lionel Richie. John Legend, Demi Lovato, Luke Bryan, Meghan Trainor and Tyrese each sang a snippet of Richie’s biggest hits such as “You Are,” “Hello” and “Brick House.” Richie joined the artists on stage for the finale where Richie sang “All Night Long (All Night)” causing audience to get on their feet and dance.

The Hollywood Vampires

The Hollywood Vampires are farily new to the music scene. The group is formed of Johnny Depp, Alice Cooper and Joe Perry. Their performance at the Grammys marked the group’s first live television performance. They played their song “As Bad As I Am” and paid tribute to Lemmy Kilmister of the English rock band Motorhead, who died in December of 2015, with the song “Ace of Spades.”

David Bowie Tribute

Lady Gaga delivered an homage to the late David Bowie, who died in January after losing his battle with cancer. Gaga sang a few of his songs including “Space Oddity,” “Let’s Dance” and “Heroes.” Prior to the Grammys, Gaga got Bowie’s face tattooed on her rib cage.

Adele

Adele’s performance is one to remember but not necessarily for the singing. Many people who were watching the Grammys may have noticed some technical issues during her set. It seems there was an issue with the microphone and the audio kept going in and out. According to the Associated Press, a CBS spokesperson said there was a five to eight second technical issue in the broadcast. Adele performed “All I Ask” off her latest album “25.”
