Local Muslim leaders and Ball State students will come together through a panel discussion to educate the public about the Islamic culture and Muslim religion.

The panel discussion will be Jan. 12 from 6-8 p.m. at Cornerstone Center for the Arts. The discussion, "Peace through Allegiance,” will be the January meeting for Reconciliation Achieved through Community Engagement (R.A.C.E.) Muncie in partnership with the Islamic Center of Muncie and Cornerstone.

“The purpose of the panel discussion is to educate the public about Islamic culture and the Muslim religion, and to promote and foster a welcoming environment for our local Muslim community members who live, work and learn in our Muncie community,” the R.A.C.E. Muncie Facebook page said.

R.A.C.E Muncie works to eradicate racism and promote reconciliation, equality and respect for all races and cultures, according to muncieevents.com. The group believes they can strengthen relationships in Muncie through public community dialogue.
