The Rocket League team from Psyonix hasn’t made any major moves to platforms outside of PlayStation 4 and Steam, but a recent interview on the Red Bull website has some people speculating that the game will be announced for release before the end of the year.

Psyonix CEO and studio director Dave Hagewood responded to a question in the Red Bull interview about a possible release of Rocket League for Xbox One. Hagewood didn’t confirm nor deny the idea, but he make a possible “tease” for the game being launched on new platforms:

“I can’t say. We’re looking at all kinds of platforms and there may be some announcements coming up at some point – hopefully before the end of the year – but I can’t confirm that."

Earlier this year in August, Marketing VP Jeremy Dunham confirmed, via Gamespot, that Rocket League is currently undergoing the process to be ported to other systems. He said, “we are definitely bringing Rocket League to additional systems. We’ll have an official announcement of what platforms those are (and when) a little further down the line.”

Rocket League is currently available for PC and PlayStation 4. The  game recently had an update that includes the ability to access the Custom Mutator settings, the ability to change weather effects, new community flags and many more. There were also some online improvements and gameplay tweaks as well.

Rocket League is one of the surprise hits of the year. Launching on Steam and PlayStation 4, it has a collective five million downloads, one million of which belong to Steam downloads alone.
