Ball State student, Noyer resident, dies

Ball State freshman computer science major and Noyer Complex resident Zachary Barnes died unexpectedly after falling ill, said Liza Renze-Rhodes, director of media strategy. 

Baker/Klipple is collecting donations and signing a card for Barnes and his family. To contribute, go to the Baker or Klipple desk. All donations go to the Muscular Dystrophy Association Summer Camp, a camp for kids with neuromuscular disease. Cards will be sent out on Nov. 15. 

Visitation for Barnes is from 1 to 4 p.m. on Nov. 7 and services are scheduled for 4 p.m. the same day at the Edmonds and Evans Funeral Home in Chesterton, Indiana. 

In the email sent to the residence hall, hall director Ashley Taylor and assistant hall director Matt Brown said the staff of the Counseling Center is available for any students who may be struggling with Barnes' death.
