'Fallout 4' now holds the record for most concurrent Steam users

The world is collectively celebrating the release of Bethesda’s long-awaited game, Fallout 4, and the numbers show it. The game has now surpassed Grand Theft Auto 5’s Steam concurrent user record, with over 400,000 players.

Bethesda now has its sweet revenge, if you will, on Rockstar, whose GTA 5 had ironically beaten the record of the former’s 2011 The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim back in April of this year with over 300,000 concurrent players.

This record does not count towards games developed by Valve, who manages Steam, as two of the software’s games, Counter-Strike Global Offensive and Dota 2, have previously accounted for about 820,000 and 1.26 million concurrent users, respectively.

Fallout 4 is now available for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Microsoft Windows.
