Call of Duty for PC flops at launch

The Call of Duty: Black Ops III PC release was disappointing to many. By and large, the game purchased from Steam was either so difficult to play that it wasn’t worth it, or that the game was simply literally unplayable in one way or another.

Bugs ranged from the main menu not allowing the player to pick an option to the game loading the logos for companies and then crashing. A look down the reviews page lists user after user leaving poor review because of one or another thing preventing them from playing the game.

This game is not the first to perform less-than-spectacularly in terms of performance on the Steam virtual shelves. The recent Batman: Arkham Knight debacle forces one to consider if the lack of quality control and optimization is a trend that’s on the rise or a fluke that just happened due to pure chance.
