BioWare, the developer behind the sci-fi series Mass Effect, has recently announced that the game is going to have a theme park ride. The ride will be located in Santa Clara, California’s Great America theme park with an opening date of sometime in 2016.
The ride will feature many 4D effects, meaning that it will likely involve not only visual, but also tangible and olfactory sensations. There will also be a live acting portion of the ride, leading some to speculate that they plan to hire a surrogate Commander Shepard, the multi-gendered protagonist of the series. The ride is supposed to lead the audience through strange atmospheres, ending with riders rescuing the universe from forces of opposition.
Possibly coinciding with the ride's release, Mass Effect: Andromeda is also coming out in 2016.
