Marvel Comics announced that a new series featuring Black Widow will be happening in early 2016.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Eisner Award winning creative team Mark Waid and artist Chris Samnee shared that Natasha Romanov’s (Black Widow) will have a different continuation from past creators Nathan Edmondson and Phil Noto’s take on the Avenger.

Waid and Samnee plan to slowly grow out of Edmondson and Noto’s series.

"It's similar to the way we approached Daredevil in that we’re not picking up specifically from the end of the previous issue or specifically from any one moment," Waid said.

If you are one of the fans that never kept along with Black Widow’s storyline, no worries. "It’s not a necessity to have read the previous series,” Samnee said. “Certainly, it wouldn’t hurt, but you should be able to jump right into this one."
