Professor, wife conscious, communicating after fire

Ball State associate professor Tom Price and his wife Pam Price are conscious and able to communicate after being rescued from their burning home May 29.

Fletcher Price, their son, said doctors called their recovery “perfect,” and they are hoping to remove their breathing tubes. He said they are both able to communicate in short written sentences and gestures, although they are still under sedation.

“We are really happy with their recovery right now,” Fletcher Price said. “Hoping to get out of the hospital soon and move on to the next stage of dealing with this mess.”
