MAC Standings

Northern Illinois - 3-1

Western Michigan - 3-2

Ball State - 2-2

Buffalo - 2-2

Binghamton - 2-2

Toledo - 1-4

The Cardinals won the doubles point, but lost five of six singles matches.

"It was a very disappointing loss," Ball State men's tennis head coach Bill Richards said in a statement. "We had opportunities in five of the six singles matches but only could pull out one of them. Binghamton came through in clutch situations much better than we did today. It was a very difficult way to end the season."

At No. 1 doubles, senior Patrick Elliott and sophomore Lucas Andersen earned a 6-4 win. Freshman Collin Rigney and senior Ray Leonard defeated Ismael Dinia and Vihar Shah to clinch the doubles point.

Andersen earned Ball State's lone win in singles at the No. 2 position. He defeated Robin Lesage in three sets, 6-1, 6-7 and 6-2.

The Cardinals will return to the court in the Mid-American Conference Tournament on April 24 in DeKalb, Ill.
