Ball State hosts inaugural Chirpies

Ball State hosted its first-ever Chirpies awards show on Monday, honoring its athletes at John R. Emens Auditorium.

Former Ball State football player Jahwan Edwards won Male Athlete of the Year, while senior golfer Jenna Hague was named Female Athlete of the Year.

Scott Secor, the reigning Mid-American Conference Special Teams Player of the Year, earned the Play of the Year award for his game-winning 55-yard field goal against Central Michigan on Oct. 18.
