Muncie Police Department detectives are working on a case that occurred Wednesday night on Rex Street.

Ball State University Spokeswoman Joan Todd and an MPD detective both responded to questions about a stabbing on Rex Street.

The detective said some of the MPD detectives are working on an investigation.

Neither Todd nor the detective gave any details about the case but also did not correct the inquiry, which referenced a possible stabbing.

No alert was sent out to students about the incident.

“We only send alerts when they are relevant,” Todd said. “In this case, there was no ongoing threat.”

Todd said MPD took the call and University Police Officers responded to assist.

No further information is available at this time.
