The Ball State field hockey team wrapped up its season Nov. 1 with a 6-3 loss to Mid-American Conference opponent Miami.

The Cardinals started the match with a 3-0 lead with goals from sophomore Bryce Barnes, junior Bethany Han and freshman Carley Shannon.

In the 29th minute, Miami got on the scoreboard with a goal from Ali Froede. After the first half, the Cardinals held a 3-1 lead.

The score would remain the same until the 52nd minute, when Miami's Bea Dechant scored the Redhawks' second goal of the day.

Miami then controlled the match, scoring four more goals to cap off the 6-3 victory.

Ball State finished the season sixth in the MAC with a 5-11 overall record and a 1-5 conference record.
