Ball State goalkeeper Shelby Henley and midfielder Lexi Kavanaugh have been named the Mid-American Conference Players of the Week after the field hockey team swept a two-game homestand last weekend.

Henley earned MAC Defensive Player of the Week after allowing only one goal in two games. The junior leads the conference in goals allowed and trails only Central Michigan's Sadie Reynolds in save percentage.

Offensive Player of the Week was awarded to Kavanaugh after she registered a hat trick against Missouri State, followed by the game-winning goal against Michigan State in overtime. Kavanaugh leads Ball State in goals on the season with six. She is fourth in the MAC in both goals and goals per game, while also leading the conference in game-winning goals with two.

Ball State faces Longwood at 7 p.m. Oct.17 in Farmville, Va.
