4th quarter
At the end of the game, Army defeats Ball State 33-24.
On the first play, Edwards broke a tackle at the line of scrimmage and went up the middle for a touchdown, cutting the lead to 27-17.
The Cardinals forced a quick three and out and after the punt, Ball State took over on its 29. Mann hit Williams for a first down, then Mabon for another. After hitting Shillings and moving into the red zone, Mann fumbled and was dropped for a loss of nine.
After screen to Edwards picked up the first down, Mann hit Dylan Curry for a six-yard touchdown, cutting the lead to 27-24.
Army pushed the ball downfield on its next drive, running the clock and scoring a touchdown on a Santiago 11-yard run. Army missed the extra point, making the score 33-24.
After the kickoff, Ball State started on its 24-yard line. Mann completed consecutive passes of eight and seven yards, but was intercepted by Army's Jeremy Timpf.
Army ran out the clock.
3rd quarter
At the end of the third quarter, Ball State trails Army 27-10.
After a touchback to open the quarter, Army started on its 25-yard line. Runs to the left moved the ball down to the Ball State 28. Dixon carried to the Ball State five after a 25-yard rush, and on fourth down, Santiago kept the ball and came up a yard short, giving Ball State the ball on its one-yard line.
Calling three straight runs that couldn’t pick up a first down, Ball State punted and Army took over on its 39-yard line. Santiago hit receiver Edgar Poe deep to the Ball State nine. Aaron Kemper scampered up the middle for a nine-yard touchdown on the next play and after the extra point, Army led 27-10.
Ball State took over on its 26-yard line. Mann found Jordan Williams for a first down, and then Horactio Banks carried for a first down. Facing fourth and three, Mann hit KeVonn Mabon for a first down and picked up a 15-yard roughing the passer penalty. Mann found Shillings for a first down, and the quarter ended.
2nd quarter
At halftime, Army leads Ball State 20-10.
To start the second quarter, Army punted and Ball State took over on its one-yard line. After three rushes for five yards, Ball State punted and Army took over on the Ball State 44.
Army used a barrage of short runs to push the ball down field, but the drive fell short after Army failed to convert on third and long. The field goal was good and Army led 17-7.
After the kickoff, Ball State took over on its 19. Mann hit Chris Shillings for a first down, before a false start on Mann backed the team up. The drive quickly fell apart and after the punt, Army took over on its 13-yard line.
Two runs picked up two Army first downs before Ball State forced a punt, taking over on its 34-yard line.
Edwards took a handoff down the right side to Army’s 39 for 27 yards, then another run to the five. The drive stalled and Scott Secor kicked a field goal, butting Army’s lead to 17-10.
Army started its drive off on its 25-yard line. Angel Santiago took the ball to the Ball State 48, then had another rush down to the 11. After a field goal, Army extended its lead to 20-10.
After the kickoff, the clock expired.
1st quarter
At the end of the first quarter, Army leads Ball State 14-7.
Ball State received the opening kickoff and started its drive on its 25-yard line. On the second play, Jahwan Edwards fumbled and Army took over on the Ball State 29-yard line.
Army quickly moved the ball into the rezone with a 16-yard gain from A.J. Schurr. After a couple runs that moved the ball to the one yard line, Schurr ran for a touchdown. After the extra point, Army led 7-0.
Ball State started its next drive off its 25-yard line. Facing third down, quarterback Ozzie Mann hit Jordan Williams for a first down. After hitting Corey Lacanaria, the drive fell apart and after a punt, Army took over on its 11-yard line.
Army moved the ball down to the Ball State 46 before a fumble and Ball State recovery changed possession. Tracy Key forced the fumble and Michael Ayers recovered.
On the first play, Edwards ran for 56 yards for the touchdown. After the extra point, the game was tied at seven.
Army started its next drive off on its 44-yard line. Larry Dixon took the first play to the Ball State 16, going through the middle of the Ball State defense. A roughing the passer call extended the drive, and Schurr punched the ball in for another touchdown. After the extra point, Army led 14-7.
Eric Patterson took the kickoff out to midfield. Facing fourth and one, Mann fumbled the snap and was stuffed in the backfield, and Army took over on downs.
Army moved the ball into Ball State territory but the drive was stopped on the Ball State 37-yard line and the clock expired.
