CROSS COUNTRY: Ball State hosts invitational

The Ball State cross country team continues its season at 4 p.m. Oct. 16, hosting the Ball State Invitational at the Elks Country Club in Muncie.

It will be the fourth time Ball State hosts the meet.

In addition to Ball State, select members of the Miami RedHawks cross country team will compete in the invitational.

Former Cardinal Ali Bishel holds Ball State's course record, running a 17:30 in 2009. Western Michigan’s Amber Brunmeier holds the 6K course record, running a 22:05.1 in 2011.

Ball State will use the invite to prepare for the 2014 Mid-American Conference Championship on Nov. 1.

Leading the team for the fourth consecutive race, senior twin sisters Courtney and Caitlynn Edon took 71st and 152nd at the Women’s Gold Race of the Notre Dame Invitational on Oct. 3.

The cross country team will close out its season at the MAC Championship.
