The Ball State field hockey team lost to Longwood 1-0 on Oct. 17.

Hollie McDonald gave Longwood the lead in the 11th minute, and the score would remain 1-0 for the rest of the game.

The loss brings the Cardinals' overall record to 5-8 overall with a 1-2 conference record. The team now sits in fifth place in the Mid-American Conference.  

Ball State has three matches remaining, with the next contest at 1 p.m. on Oct. 19 against Ohio.
