FOOTBALL: Former Ball State defensive back signed to NFL roster

Former Ball State defensive back Sean Baker has been signed to the Atlanta Falcons’ 53-man roster.

A member of the Falcons practice squad since 2013, Baker was promoted to the team’s active roster for the final game of the season last year, a matchup with the Carolina Panthers.

Baker played at Ball State from 2007-11, accumulating 320 total tackles, five forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries and two sacks. His record of 18 career interceptions still stands as the most in program history.

The 6'1", 290-pound safety will be eligible to play Oct. 5, when the Falcons face off against the New York Giants at 1 p.m.
