Women’s Golf: Cardinals Place 4th at Redbird Invitational to open season

The Ball State women’s golf team ended the final round Monday with a fourth place finish at the Redbird Invitational in Normal, Ill. to begin their fall season. 

After opening the invite with two rounds of 307, the Cardinals shot 311 in the final round.

The team finished three shots behind Butler and Northern Illinois, who tied for second. The team also finished one shot ahead of Ohio.

The Cardinals were led by Iowa transfer Allison Lindley who finished the invite in a tie for seventeenth place. Lindley, a sophomore, shot rounds of 76-75-79 (230) to finish as the Cardinals' highest placed individual. The Redbird Invitational was Lindley’s first event as a Cardinal.

The women’s team continues their fall schedule on Sept. 15 in the two-day Cardinal Cup hosted by Louisville at The Cardinal Club in Simpsonville, Ky.
