Play Nintendo Tour to stop in Indy this weekend

What: Opportunity to play Nintendo games and the Nintendo 2DS and meet Mario, Luigi, Donkey Kong and Kirby

When: 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday 

11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday

Where: Castleton Square 

6020 E. 82nd St. in Indianapolis

Cost: Free

Fans of Nintendo will get the chance to play new games and the Nintendo 2DS this weekend at Castleton Square Mall.

The free Play Nintendo Tour event is open to all ages at the Indianapolis mall from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.

The giant video game playground will have themed zones for Nintendo's iconic items, including banana-shaped seats, a giant Pokéball and Yoshi egg chairs, according to a Nintendo press release. Mario, Luigi, Donkey Kong and Kirby also will make an appearance. 

The "Mario Kart" racing area will have a qualifying rounds for "Mario Kart 7." Winners advance to play "Mario Kart 8" on a stage with a giant, high-definition TV screen.

The following games will be included at the event: 

  • "Kirby Triple Deluxe" 
  • "Yoshi's New Island" 
  • "Pokémon X" and "Pokémon Y" 
  • "The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds" 
  • "Super Mario 3D Land" 
  • "Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D" 
  • "Mario Kart 7"
