CROSS COUNTRY: Ball State looks to improve in upcoming season

The Ball State cross country team heads into the 2014-15 season looking to improve in many areas following a season in which it struggled to win a match.

The Cardinals' best finish last year came at the #JennaStrong Fall Classic in Wilmington, Ohio. The team finished fifth out of 34 teams. Another strong finish was eighth out of 17 teams at the Greater Louisville Classic.

There were no first place finishes.

The team enters this season a more experienced group, as three seniors, Caitlynn Edon, Courtney Edon and Ashley Schmidgall look to lead a veteran roster.

Ball State's biggest priority will be to improve its standing at the Mid-American Conference Championships. The Cardinals finished last out of 12 teams this past season.

Last season, the Cardinals finished 28th out of 33 teams at the Great Lakes Regional, ending the season as with a failure to advance.

For the upcoming season, improvement is a main focus.
