SOFTBALL: Ohio pitcher throws perfect game, beats Ball State

The Ball State Cardinals fell to the Ohio Bobcats in the second round of the Mid-American Conference Tournament today, 0-3. The Cardinals are still alive in the tournament, as it is double elimination.

Ohio pitcher Savannah Jo Dorsey threw a perfect game, facing the minimum 21 batters, striking out 13 in seven innings.

Sophomore Kelsey Schifferdecker pitched six innings for Ball State. She allowed three runs, two earned, on nine hits. All three runs were scored in the first inning. Schifferdecker had three strikeouts and three walks in the game.

Ball State will return to action at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Firestone Stadium in Akron, Ohio. The team will play against the winner of tonight’s matchup between Northern Illinois and Akron.
