Men's tennis falls to #12 Illinois in NCAA champhionships

The Ball State men’s tennis team finished its season  Friday  with a 0-4 loss to No. 12 Illinois in the first round of the 2014 NCAA Tennis championships.

In doubles play, Ball State’s Ray Leonard and Austin Smith fell to Illinois’ No. 5 duo of Tom Kopinski and Ross Guignon, 4-8. Freshmen Lucas Anderson and Matt Helm lost to Illinois’ Blake Bazarnik and Alex Jesse, 6-8.

In singles play, freshman Andrew Stutz lost to Guignon 1-6, 3-6. Leonard fell 3-6, 1-6 to Jared Hiltzik and Anderson was defeated by Kopinski by a score of 1-6, 2-6.
