Cardinals' season comes to an end with loss in MAC tournament

Ball State fell 2-3 to Northern Illinois this afternoon in the Mid-American Conference Softball Tournament.

 

With the loss being the Cardinals’ second of the MAC tournament, the team's 2014 season came to an end.  

 

The Cardinals had six hits to go with two runs. Six different batters contributed a hit, but designated player Sammi Cowger had the one RBI for Ball State, coming on a solo home run in the fifth inning.

 

Nicole Steinbach started the game as pitcher and threw a complete game. Steinbach allowed three runs on six hits while striking out three and walking one. The defense committed one error.

 

Ball State ended its year with a 33-19 overall record. The team finished the MAC at 12-4.
