SOFTBALL: Ball State earns sweep over Eastern Michigan

The Ball State softball team completed a three-game sweep of Eastern Michigan with an 11-3, five-inning victory today at the Ball State Softball Complex.

 

The Cardinals totaled 10 hits as a team, with Loren Cihlar, Emily Dabkowski and Briana Evans picking up two each.

 

Dabkowski and Taylor Rager both had three RBIs, and Jennifer Gilbert and Rager each hit a home run.

 

Sophomore pitcher Kelsey Schifferdecker started the game for Ball State, allowing two earned runs on six hits in three innings.

 

Nicole Steinbach pitched the final two innings. She allowed no runs on three hits.

 

Ball State clinched the Mid-American Conference championship with the win and will take the No. 1 seed into the conference tournament beginning  Wednesday .

 

The Cardinals ended the regular season with a 32-17 record.
