UPDATE
Ball State bounced back in the second game of tonight’s doubleheader and defeated Indiana 6-3 at Andy Mohr Field in Bloomington.
The 1-1 split runs the Cardinals’ record to 24-15 on the season and was the final non-conference game of the year for Ball State.
The offense was more productive in game two as the Cardinals scored six runs on nine hits. Senior Jennifer Gilbert led the team with three hits, one of which was a home run, and two RBIs. Emily Dabkowski broke a 3-3 tie in the seventh inning with a three-run homer. She joined Audrey Bickel with two hits.
Kelsey Schifferdecker pitched a complete game for Ball State allowing three runs on twelve hits and facing Indiana’s 30 at bats. She had three strikeouts to no walks.
Ball State will return to action Friday as they host Mid-American Conference foe Akron in a doubleheader. The first game will begin at 1:00 p.m.

The Ball State Cardinals dropped game one of two against the Indiana Hoosiers this afternoon by a score of 2-3.
The offense was quieted and was held to just two runs on five hits.
Audrey Bickel led the charge offensively with a two-run home run in fourth inning. She was one of five Cardinals to record a hit in the game.
On the mound, Nicole Steinbach pitched six innings for Ball State. She allowed eight hits and three runs, two of which were earned. She also recorded four strikeouts and two walks.
The defense committed three errors in the game.
Ball State will look to bounce back in game two of this afternoon’s doubleheader.
