MEN'S VOLLEYBALL: Win hits milestone for Ball State head coach

Ball State knocked off the New Jersey Institute of Technology on Thursday night 25-13, 21-25, 25-17 and 25-19.

The win was No. 300 for head coach Joel Walton.

“I really feel like I’ve been blessed to coach these wins at my alma mater,” Walton said. “It’s near and dear to my heart and I really want to see it be as successful as it can possibly be.”

Outside attacker Marcin Niemczewski led the team with 13 kills on the night, middle attacker Matt Leske was second with nine.

Setter Graham McIlvaine finished the night with a team-high 33 assists and backup Hiago Garchet had 8.

The team finished with 11.5 blocks and libero David Ryan Vander Meer had 23 digs.

The win improves Ball State to 16-5.
