Emergency notification announces campus is closed until 7 a.m. Thursday

An emergency notification sent at approximately noon on Wednesday informed students, faculty and staff that the university is closed until Thursday at 7 a.m. due to severe weather.

The alert advises only essential personnel to be on duty.

According to the National Weather Service, Delaware County is currently under a Blizzard Warning, which will remain in effect until 7 p.m.

Snow is expected to taper off from South to North and West to East through the afternoon hours.

Residents are encouraged to stay inside and not travel unless necessary.

Fox 59 reports that more than a hundred Indiana National Guard Soldiers and Airmen have been called in to assist residents in areas including Muncie, Terre Haute, Vincennes, Evansville, Indianapolis and Richmond as needed.
