For the second year in a row, students have the chance to trade in their gently used tees for a new one.

The Student Government Association and Ball State Athletics have paired together to help increase attendance at the last home football game of the year against Ohio.

All shirts collected from the trade-in will be donated to Muncie Mission.

The event began Monday and will continue from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at the L.A. Pittenger Student Center and from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. in Bracken Library.

Sadie Sial, an SGA senator, said the organizations are hoping to collect at least one thousand shirts.

“We want to donate as many shirts as we can to the Muncie Mission,” Sial said.

Sial said they have five hundred glow in the dark shirts from the athletic department to help fit the “blackout” theme of tonight’s game.

They will also be handing out 500 shirts from Cardinal W.I.N.G.S., an organization working to raise money for the university’s Student Emergency Aid Fund.

“We’re running out of a lot of shirts really fast. We have a lot of students and even a lot of faculty people coming in,” Sial said. “A lot of Muncie locals have also been coming in and trading their shirts. So it’s been really good so far.”

In order for a shirt to be eligible to donate, the shirt must have no rips, holes or tears and be in an otherwise good condition.

“The whole point is to get more students at the game Wednesday,” Sial said.
