The Mid-American Conference has released its 2012 postseason football awards, and Ball State's 9-3 record led to 15 players being selected to the All-MAC teams.

Leading the way for the Cardinals on the offensive first team were offensive lineman Austin Holtz, tight end Zane Fakes, wide receivers Willie Snead and Jamill Smith, and place kicker Steven Schott.

Fakes finished third on the team in receptions with 51 for 404 yards while catching five touchdowns.

Snead led the team in receptions. He finished second in the MAC with 82 catches for 1070 yards and seven touchdowns.  Snead was also third in the MAC with 89 receiving yards per game.

Schott led the conference and tied for first in the nation in field goals made with 24. He finished second in scoring with 120 points accounted for.

All-MAC second team selections were quarterback Keith Wenning, linebacker Travis Freeman, and defensive lineman Jonathan Newsome.

Wenning completed 279 passes for over 2800 yards and 22 touchdowns.

For Freeman, this was his second appearance, having first been selected for the MAC second team in 2011.  Freeman tied for fifth in the conference in tackles with 119.

Newsome finished fourth in the conference with eight and a half sacks and 12 tackles for loss.

Third team selections included offensive linemen Jordan Hansel and Cam Lowry, running back Jahwan Edwards, defensive lineman Nathan Ollie, and defensive back Eric Patterson.
