VGR Back 2 School show tonight

Tonight, Village Green Records will yet again be welcoming some of the state's most reputable acts in an effort to encourage students to support local music.

Keeping with tradition, the record store will hold its annual Back 2 School show, hosting a free event in the Martin Avenue lawn. This year's lineup will include a wide variety of acts including many notable artists from outside the city including Pravada, Hotfox and more. The show will also include Muncie regulars such as Support the Troopz.

"If you live in Muncie, you need to say you've at least seen Troopz once before," said owner of the record store, Travis Harvey. "They are a ridiculous live act that gets everyone's blood pumping."

As is with every event that the record store hosts, this year's VGR Back 2 School show will attempt to encourage more students to experience new music.

"The Village Green Records has one key goal and that is to expose people to new things, and our Back 2 School show is a great opportunity for the store to welcome freshmen and returning students to new music," Harvey said. "The Back 2 School show has always been one of our bigger events during the year, and it has been a wonderful gala for students to mingle, meet new people and other musicians."
