Paul Ryan to visit Indianapolis

09/16/12 10:26 p.m.

Vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan will be in downtown Indianapolis today for a fundraising event.

Tickets cost $1,000 and tables cost $10,000. The money will go to the Romney Victory Fund, which raises funds for the Romney presidential campaign, the Republican National Committee and state Republican parties, according to the Indianapolis Star.

The luncheon and reception is in the J.W. Marriott.

The campaign event will be a way to bring in Hoosier voters who have voted for Republican candidates for nearly all elections except 1964 and 2008.

Those who couldn't afford the cost of a ticket but still wanted to see Ryan could enter a contest to win a chance to meet and have a photo taken with him this weekend.

Mitt Romney chose Ryan, a congressman from Wisconsin, to be his running mate in August.
