Ball State students involved with Circle of Blue receive award

A group of Ball State students, while working with members of the global news organization Circle of Blue, have been recognized by the Rockefeller Foundation with the Centennial Innovation Award.

Students participating in an immersive learning class lead by Jennifer George-Palilonis, a George & Frances Ball Distinguished Professor of Multimedia, created information graphics alongside Circle of Blue staff members in 2010-2011.

The interactive graphics reported in-depth about the growing confrontation between water, energy and climate interests in regard to China and the United States, the world's two largest economies.

Circle of Blue was founded in 2000 by J. Paul Ganter, and strives to provide relevant, reliable and actionable on-the-ground information regarding the world's resource crises.
