ForbesWomen president, publisher to speak on campus

A woman who brings light to successful women in the business world through both a magazine and web series will be talking to students today.

Moira Forbes, president and publisher of Forbes Women Magazine, will be in Pruis Hall from 2-3 p.m.

Forbes will give a few brief remarks and a question and answer session will be held.

"We are fortunate to be able to bring Moira Forbes to campus," Tamara Estep director of External Relations said. "Her wealth of experience in the publishing industry makes her an excellent choice."

Moira joined Forbes Media in 2001 in its London office, overseeing research and marketing for Forbes' European edition, in addition to developing business opportunities on behalf of all the company divisions according to her website.

"Ms. Forbes has directed access to many of today's accomplished business leaders and entrepreneurs," Estep said. "She recently interviewed, for example, Ball State University alumna Angela Ahrendts, CEO of Burberry for the Forbes Video network."

Estep said she feels Ahrendts brings insights and knowledge in leadership, entrepreneurship, media, and research and marketing speaking directly on issues related to women in business and leadership.

ForbesWomen was launched by Forbes Media in 2008, the website includes a variety of content forums and events. The website is meant to give insight to the professional world of successful business women with goals and ambitions.

"It is a rare opportunity to have a forum with an accomplished and respected businesswoman," Estep said. "We are fortunate to be able to bring Moira to campus."

For Estep she wants students to come to the event armed with plenty of questions. So students can gain career insight for when they graduate from college.
