Few students taking advantage of time tickets for registration

University officials say they haven't seen any problems with the new course registration system so far, but they aren't seeing much activity either.

As of noon on Tuesday, about 1,000 time tickets had been issued to graduate students and seniors who have already applied for graduation. But only three dozen students had actually registered for classes.

Phil Repp, vice president for Information Technology, said time tickets would be released to students over the next three weeks, and he expects to see more activity in the next week or so.

The new course registration system will take effect this fall. It's part of the Self-Service Banner system and is available at the MY BSU Web page. Students will still use the old system to sign up for summer classes.
