The Ball State women's tennis team closed out its weekend road trip on Saturday with a 7-0 loss to Akron.
The Zips quickly captured the doubles point, sweeping the Cardinals 3-0.
The No. 3 doubles team of senior Dena Boulieris and junior Lauren Pickrel lost to Akron 8-2.
No Ball State player won in singles, but freshman Ashlyn Rang came the closest. Rang lost to Natalia Kuvakina 7-5, 6-2.
The Cardinals' next challenge comes next weekend in another pair of road conference matchups. Ball State will travel to Eastern Michigan on Friday, then Toledo on Saturday. Both games start at 1 p.m.
